Amy and her cakes!

As promised, I have some sneak peak pictures of the cakes that Amy, my manager and good friend, has started to make.  This is a cake she made for her own birthday!!  I have to say when she walked in with this cake I was more then impressed.  Every part is pure sugar and made by Amy.  If you like what you see, just wait because she has promised me 3 more cakes this week.  And I can't forget to mention this part, but they taste soooooo good!

Cakes on our minds.....

I am so happy to announce that Amy, my amazing manager and good friend, has started her own cake making business.  And if the sample cakes I have seen and ate so far, are any indication of her talent, she is going to be one busy woman!!  Very soon I will have lots of pictures of the cakes she is working on now.  As a result of the new adventure into baking,  we have been talking about cakes a lot around here, we have also been looking at a lot of other people's cakes.  One of the cool sites we came across is Zoe Clark Cakes, her cakes are very simple, but so elegant.  Check these out.  Stay tuned to see Amy's cakes, you are going to be blown away!!!

Magpie's Cakes

Check out these cakes from Magpie's Cake.  The designer used to be a ballerina, and she definitely brings the feel of the costumes into her cakes.  They are a little different, but I love them.

Fun Modern Cakes

When you turn on the television these days it seems like there are cake shows on all the time. There is the Cake Boss, Ace of Cakes, and all kinds of cake challenges on the food channel. I love to watch the shows but it seems like they do a lot of very traditional wedding cakes. So I thought I would find a little something else. I love these modern cakes, there is just something fun and different about them. I hope you enjoy....
