Inspiration Board #10: An Apple a Day...

I am a big fan of using fruit with flowers for party decor. From using apples as name cards to candy apples for dessert, anything can be super fun. I have put together some apple pictures to show just what I mean. I hope you like......

Inspiration Board #9: Pretty in Pink

The fact that I haven't done a pink inspiration board yet really speaks to my self control, cause you better believe I have wanted to do one for a while. And just wait because the Valentine's posts might be a little out of control. But let's start slow with the Pretty in Pink board. Hope you like!click image to enlarge

Props to Martha

I am sure it comes as no surprise to anyone that I have a ton of gay friends. I am a florist and wedding planner after all. So when I saw that Martha Stewart featured this marriage in her "Real Weddings" section in the Winter 2010 issue, I was so excited. I certainly know a few couples who would love to have a ceremony just like this. And since this is my blog and I get to express my views, I have to say I can't wait until everyone in our country is equal and can have wonderful wedding just like this. I hope a change comes soon.

Can't ever forget the boys!

So I was looking back at my posts and I realized I have kind of forgotten about the boys. And specifically their attire. We are fortunate here in Sun Valley that the grooms and groomsmen attire can really range from very casual to black tie. I always love it when the guys are wearing the exact same thing, if it is tuxedos or just a button down white shirt and khakis, a unified look is always so handsome! Here are some great examples of all types!

Inspiration Board #8: Purple Passion

I just can't wait for spring flowers to start blooming, so I thought I would get a jump start and get some spring inspiration going! I love purple and I wish more people would use it in their weddings. It is so easy to make purple look very wild and natural as well as very clean and sophisticated. These pictures will show you just that....

The Getty Villa

This weekend I went with my family to the Getty Villa, in Malibu. This isn't the giant Getty Museum over looking Los Angeles, this is a smaller museum, in a different location, overlooking the beaches. Here is where Getty chose to put his antiquities collection. And continuing with the tradition of the the big Getty it also has stunning gardens. Now being the person I am and having the job I do, I can't go any place without thinking about weddings and parties. Now I am not sure if it would ever be possible, but if someone was able to rent the Getty Villa for a wedding, it would be crazy amazing. I can just picture it, the ceremony in the gardens, dinner in the amphitheater and dancing around the giant reflecting pool. Oh how I wish it was possible, a girl can dream.....

Spice up those dresses!

I just love the new jewelry Anthropologie has been coming out with. Their stuff is great for spicing up that plane dress and even better as bridesmaids gifts. I love the look of simple bridesmaids dresses with all of the girls wearing a great chunky necklace. Here are some of my most recent favorites.....

Real Wedding: Anthony and Victoria

It is finally here! This is a wedding I just couldn't wait to see the pictures of and a wedding I really enjoyed planning. I had brought you the photos of Anthony and Victoria's engagement a few months ago and now here is the wedding. This wedding took place here in Sun Valley on January 2nd, the day was a picture perfect winter wedding day. I want to start with just the photos of Anthony and Victoria, and as photographer Hillary Maybery says, Italian Vogue here we come!

The ceremony took place at our local church, Our Lady of the Snows. The ceremony was very simple but so beautiful, and I am so proud of Victoria for not fainting, she was a bit nervous! But having her handsome groom waiting for her and her great and funny dad walking her down the aisle must have helped ease the nerves.

After the ceremony the guests jumped into their cars and headed out to Elkhorn Springs Restaurant. Hillary took Anthony and Victoria for a few more amazing photos and then the couple took a bit of time for themselves before also heading over to Elkhorn too.

For the reception Anthony and Victoria decided to have it be a bit less formal. Instead of a full sit down dinner we did multiple food stations with all kinds of different foods being served all night long. This allowed for the night to be super social and for all of the guest to really mingle. Also in the back wine room of the restaurant, we made a homemade photo booth, which was a huge hit of the evening. The guests danced the night away to DJ Lenny Joseph, and for some crazy reason the moment Miley Cyrus "Party in the USA" came on all of the guys shirts came off. I can honestly say I have not seen a wedding party have so much fun.

I just have to thank Anthony and Victoria for being such great people to work with. I really had fun planning your wedding with you guys, and I can't wait to spend more time with you. If you want to see more pictures of this stunning wedding please visit Hillary Maybery's blog as well!

Always room for more color!

I love this wedding from Junebug Weddings. Not many people go so bold with different colors, but this couple did and it is stunning and so much fun. All this color just makes people so happy, and I love the modern look of the flowers.

Rainy day wedding

This summer I had more rainy weddings then I have had in 10 years of doing this. The best part was that we made sure the day was just as great as a sunny day. In fact I think some of the photos were the best I had ever seen. And that is so illustrated in this Santa Barbara wedding, photographed by Braedon Photography. These photos really show the beauty in a rainy day wedding.

Happy Birthday Elvis!

Today would have been Elvis's birthday, and because I am such an Elvis fan, I thought a few wedding photos of he and Priscilla might just be appropriate! Have a great weekend everyone!!!
