Happy Weekend!
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my new office space. But when I saw these pictures, I just fell head over heals. It would be my absolute dream to have a store front that looked just like this one. However mine would not just be a dress shop, it would be a whole bridal and party boutique. A girl can dream.....

Little Spring Party
Here are a few pictures I found, that I think would make a perfect bridal shower or birthday party. I think the combinations of all the pink and light green might be a bit too much for a wedding. Remember girls, your wedding has to represent your husband too, so no hosing the place down in all pink. Also something about these pictures makes me excited for Spring!

Who doesn't need new jewelry?
My good friends over at Cardigans and Couture featured some of these necklaces from Elva Fields the other day. I just loved them so much that I had to share them with you. Defiantly go to her web site and check out all of her other great jewelry.

Inspiration Board # 15: Alice in Wonderland
The other day I bought the new InStyle magazine and noticed that it was filled with Alice in Wonderland stuff. From articles and photo shoots inspired by Alice, to advertisements for the upcoming movie. Then I started to notice that actually there is Alice in Wonderland stuff all over the place right now. So I thought, why not do something myself. So here is my Alice inspired inspiration board. Enjoy.....

Stinky Cheese
I love cheese, especially great aged cheese. And I love beautiful tables. So in my mind there isn't anything better then a beautiful cheese table. If there is one thing I really can't stand is when people set a cheese table and it is just a plate with some cheese and bread on it, and it looks like it came straight from a boring grocery store. So in my mind the table not only has cheese and bread but it has fruit, and not just grapes as a garnish, but something fun like cherries or figs. It should have some good meats, like hard salami or prosciutto. And it you can, throw in some fun stuff like honey comb and Italian olives. And remember all of this food tastes great, but make it look good too. Here are some examples for exactly what I am talking about...

Drinks all around!
We all know that refreshments are very important at wedding and parties, especially the alcoholic kind. And so that is all the more reason to have fun with your beverages. Yes lots of people do a signature drink, but it is done so much that it isn't as fun and special as it once was. So here are some fun ways to do something a little different. Plus they double as a good guest gifts!

Inspiration Board #14: Up, Up and Away
In general, I have never been a big fan of using balloons for decor, I have always thought they were really only appropriate for young kids birthdays. But lately my feelings for balloons have changed a bit. I am really digging them if they are used in huge quantities, like filling an entire room's ceiling with balloons or carrying a huge bouquet of balloons, of the same color, for engagement photos. Also companies now make huge balloons, almost 5 feet in diameter, that can really make a big fun statement with. Take a look at this inspiration board and see if I can change your mind about balloons too!

Inspiration Board #13: Valentine's Day Part 2
Here comes Part 2 of my Valentine's Day theme. This one focuses a bit more on food, and really lets be honest basically just chocolate. Cause really isn't that what this day is really all about? Enjoy.....

Queen for a Day
Look at these super fun pictures from Kristin Cheatwood and Hillary Maybery. Kristin got a hold of this fun chair and enlisted the help from one of my former brides, Jen. I whipped up a little bouquet and these pictures are the result. How fun is this chair??

Where is my seat?
Seating is very important at weddings, it is also something that can make the bride and groom crazy even before the wedding day has arrived. Trying to find the right table and seat for each guest can be an overwhelming task. The best way I have found to accomplish the seating assignment task, is to start with a couple pages of lined paper and a nice sharp pencil with a really good eraser. List each table by number and give about a dozen lines in between tables. Start with Table One as the bridal table and just start filling in names at each table. You will find that eraser comes in very handy. Next you need to decide if you are just assigning people to tables or to specific seats. In my experience it is a waste of time to assign people to specific seats, because trust me, they won't sit in the seat you have assigned them. Plus the day of the wedding you will have to make a second set of name cards and spend a good chunk of time putting them at the assigned seats. But here is the fun part, figuring out how you want to show off the name cards. Here are some fun ideas...

Inspiration Board #11: Robins Egg Blue
I really love this shade of blue, there is just something about it that is romantic. But a word of warning, don't over do it, only use this color as an accent color, otherwise it is going to look like Tiffany and Co. sponsored your wedding. This color is really good to mix with browns, greens and whites.

Warning tall grass ahead....
I plan a lot of weddings that take place outside in a tent on the grass, and I always see girls show up in super high stiletto shoes. And I do have to admit that I kind of take a guilty pleasure in watching those girls aerate the grass and fall over the place in their super high shoes. So my piece of advice for any girls planning on attending an outdoor wedding this summer: Wear Platforms!!! And to help out with my advise here are my favorites for the season...
